In either scenario, there are several things that you can do ahead of time to prepare your pet or your children. An important warning to keep in mind regarding children and dog bites is that many dog bites happen because children who are raised with a well-trained tolerant dog will assume that all dogs will react to children in the same way. It is important to teach your child to never approach a strange dog no matter how friendly that dog may seem.
