Dr. Dan E. Cram
***UPDATE***
As many of you are aware, Dr. Cram sold his practice 3 years ago to Dr. Heath Rose who also owns and practices at Raytown Animal Hospital. After being in practice since 1967, Dr. Cram has been enjoying continuing to practice veterinary medicine without also handling the business end of the practice. As you know, Dr. Cram has been cutting back on the hours he works. As of December 31, Dr. Cram is retiring after 44 years of practice. With the addition of 2 grandchildren to his family in the last 3 years, he wants to spend more time with family. Dr. Jill Holt joined the practice in mid-September and has met many of you already. She looks forward to meeting and getting to know our clients and their pets and will continue to maintain the standard of care that was established by Dr. Cram. We will all miss Dr. Cram very much but wish him well in his future adventures. We will be holding an Open House on a Saturday in January (tentatively January 21) and will send out a mailing letting you know when we have the date nailed down.
I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1967. Upon graduating in 1967, I moved to Kansas City
following the woman I wanted to marry and have been here ever since. I’m a member of the AVMA and a member and past president of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association.
My wife, Sherri (the one I followed to Kansas City), and I have two children. Our daughter, Amanda, her husband, David, and our grandson, Griffinn, live in Eugene, Oregon. Our son, Tyson, his wife, Allison, and our granddaughter, Katherine, live in Overland Park
We currently have two cats, Mingus and Django, named after two of my favorite musicians. Our original cat, Mercedes, died of kidney failure several years ago and current resides in an urn in our bedroom where she waits to be mixed with Sherri and my ashes in the future.
My interests are reading, music and outdoor activities with Sherri (bike riding, hiking, etc.). Some of my most memorable adventures are ice climbing in Colorado, climbing Mt. St. Helens, climbing several of Colorado’s fourteeners, hiking Utah canyons and doing a couple of Grand Canyon rim-to-rim hikes.
