Glaucoma, an abnormal elevation of pressure within the eye, is a common cause of blindness in dogs and cats. Any signs of eye pain (squinting, rubbing) or redness should be checked quickly as retinal damage cannot be reversed. Your veterinarian can easily measure eye pressures.
