LOST PETS…
Animal control organizations for Overland Park, Lenexa, Merriam, Shawnee, Northeast and Johnson County parks department take their animals to Animal Haven. If you lost your pet in the area, try starting your search by calling Animal Haven. 913-432-7548.
Call local veterinary offices
Call the Lost Dog (cats, also!) Registry at (816) 333-0020
Call area shelters (see below)
Call animal control offices (see below)
Go door to door in your neighborhood. Take pictures if you have them.
Post flyers in your neighborhood (grocer, convenience store, library, vet clinics)
Place a lost or found ad in the local newspaper
Report the lost or found pet on www.Pets911.com
FOUND PETS…
- Have your veterinarian scan to see if a microchip is present. This can make finding the owner easy.
- Contact the animal control division of the police department in the city where the animal was found. This will allow the animal to be impounded at the appropriate shelter to be reunited with his/her guardian.
