PANNUS

Pannus (chronic superficial pigmentary keratitis) is a slowly progressive corneal disease generally involving both eyes. It usually appears as whitish or brown infiltration, beginning at lower, outside edges of the cornea and gradually spreading across the eye. It can occur in any breed but it most common in German shepherds, and greyhounds. The condition can usually be managed effectively but requires lifelong therapy.
