Our Price Guarantee (You can get it cheaper somewhere else)
We try hard to keep our fees reasonable and fair and feel that they are very much in line with other high quality pet hospitals in the area. Veterinary fees, however, are no different than anything else. If you look hard enough and long enough, you can always get it cheaper somewhere else.
As with anything else, you need to compare more than just cost. The old saying, "You get what you pay for", generally holds true. You must consider quality and value.
Consider a routine surgery such as a spay or neuter:
- Is a preoperative physical examination done?
- Is pre-anesthetic lab screening done to detect potential problems with anesthesia recovery, blood clotting or tissue healing?
- Is a pre-anesthetic ECG done to evaluate heart rhythm?
- What type of anesthetic is used? In general, inhalant anesthetics such as isoflurane are much more expensive but far safer for your pet.
- Is your pet's ECG and respiration being electronically monitored while under anesthesia?
- Does the surgeon practice proper sterility procedures (drapes, cap, mask, gown, gloves, and steam or gas autoclaved instruments)?
- Is pain management standard protocol? (laser surgery, topical and local anesthetics, narcotics, NSAIDS, etc.)
These are all things that are considered good medical practice. Neglecting any of these can save time and money but may be to the detriment of your pet.
There are many ways to cut corners and lower cost, whether it's a routine vaccination or a major surgery, but the quality of the service is almost always compromised. We believe our fees are reasonable and fair. Our philosophy is not to be "the cheapest", but to have the best staff, the best equipment and provide the best medical care for your pet.
