Trailridge Pet Hospital has a friendly, experienced staff...
Please enjoy the following biographies and pictures of the Trailridge Pet Hospital staff--and their pets!

Dr. Dan E. Cram
I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1967. Upon graduating in 1967, I moved to Kansas City following the woman I wanted to marry and have been here ever since. I’m a member of the AVMA and a member and past president of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association.

My wife, Sherri (the one I followed to Kansas City), and I have two children. Our daughter, Amanda, her husband, David, and our grandson, Griffinn, live in Eugene, Oregon. Our son, Tyson, and his wife, Allison, live in Overland Park and are expecting our second grandchild in February.

We currently have two cats, Mingus and Django, named after two of my favorite musicians.  Our original cat, Mercedes, died of kidney failure several years ago and current resides in an urn in our bedroom where she waits to be mixed with Sherri and my ashes in the future.

My interests are reading, music and outdoor activities with Sherri (bike riding, hiking, etc.). Some of my most memorable adventures are ice climbing in Colorado, climbing Mt. St. Helens, climbing several of Colorado’s fourteeners, hiking Utah canyons and doing a couple of Grand Canyon rim-to-rim hikes.

Dr. Paige Maasen The Maasen Family
I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1997. I have been practicing in the Kansas City area since that time.

My husband, Shane, and I have two children. Our son, Miles, is growing up too fast and our daughter, Ava is always on the go! We also have a chocolate Lab, Chevy and a Pudel Pointer named Riggs.

I truly enjoy being part of the group at Trailridge.

Jan, B.A., R.V.T.
I am a Registered Veterinary Technician which means on any given day you might find me doing nursing tasks such as administering medications and treatments, taking x-rays, prepping animals for surgery, assisting during surgery, monitoring patients post-surgery, performing dental prophies, drawing blood or obtaining other specimens for lab tests, running lab tests, doing client education, researching information for our website or carrying out any number of other tasks. The most important part of my job can be spending some quiet time with a patient who is sick or in pain or anxious – ear scratching and little chats can often be the best medicine. I also collaborate with Lilly on her column.

I have worked with Dr. Cram since 1989, but because I spend much of my time with your pets in our treatment area or kennel, I am more likely to recognize your furry friend than I am you. So please forgive me if I have to ask you your name.

To relax, I enjoy reading an eclectic mix of books, dabbling at knitting and beadwork, and flower gardening/landscaping. I’m still trying to figure out how to give up sleeping so I can have time to tackle my list of other interests I’d like to explore.

I have 2 cats that were part of a litter I found in my yard in April, 2007. They were about 4 weeks old and it has been a delight watching them grow up. Boris and Melvin, or The Boys to those who can’t tell them apart, do a good job of making me laugh regularly.

Alisha
I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2003 with a B.S. in Psychology. I worked in the Social Work field for a few years, but eventually learned that I was not suited for it. I started working at Trailridge Pet Hospital in October of 2006 and have to say that I feel incredibly lucky to come to work everyday and spend my day with the most amazing group of co-workers and not to mention the outstanding clients I inherited when I joined this team. I am also the proud mom of George Catstanza, my kitty, and my Mini Dachshund, Betty.

Roxanne
I joined the Trailridge family in October 2008. I am in the process of going to school to become a Registered Vet Tech, but have been in the business for a little more than 5 years. I look forward to all that the Trailridge family has to offer, as well as meeting all the wonderful clients.

My family is in a transition period, as to my mom and dad are slowly making their way to McAllen, Texas for my dad's job. Between the three of us, we have 3 dogs, known as the "kids" and a feisty little cat. Molly, our oldest at 13, is a yellow lab. Moose, the middle child, is a seven year old yellow lab, greyhound, collie mix. Myla, the newest addition to the family, is a 2 year old smooth-coated collie. Murphy...aka...Smurf, is a 3 year old tabby.

When not at work or in class, I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends, and spending time outdoors with the "kids", and taking trips all over the United States, when time allows of course.

Amy
My name is Amy and I started working at Trailridge Pet Hospital on August 10, 2009. Even though I haven’t been working at this pet hospital very long, I have been working in this career field for the past 5 years and have loved every minute of it. I am very excited to get to know all the wonderful clients and patients that are a part of the Trailridge family and hopefully fit right in myself.

I am from a family of 6, with 3 siblings (2 sisters and 1 brother) and then I have my four- legged friends; my Yorkie named Finola aka Fin, 2 English pointers, Gunner and Gracie, and Bear the black Labrador retriever.

Mary and Sierah
Our ward attendants spend much of their time caring for your pets during their stay with us. They are responsible for keeping our guests clean, comfortable, and well fed. Of course, their favorite part of the job is getting the pets out for exercise and playtime. You will also find them helping us with appointments and treatments. They are true animal lovers!
Lilly
My name is Lilly. I was a streetwalker in my younger days, headed down the road to ruin, when I was taken in by the people at Trailridge Pet Hospital who turned my life around. I have since worked my way up to boss although I often have a hard time getting my subordinates to understand this.

I am also the head of hospital security. As such, I may find it necessary to inspect your belongings and oversee your transactions at the front desk.

When I’m not napping I can be found walking on computer keyboards, digging though employees' personal effects or exploring other ways to harass my work mates. (I am a cat, you know.) In my spare time I write my advice column. Check out Ask Lilly on the home page.
